1986 Ed Lukowich Curling Team 1986 Ed Lukowich Curling Team Team Curling 1998 Calgary The Ed Lukowich Team, consisting of "Fast" Eddie Lukowich, John Ferguson, Neil Houston and Brent Syme, was the team of the 1980's in curling. They captured three Provincial Championships (1983*, 1984, 1986), the Canadian Championship in 1986, and the Silver Broom as World Champions in 1986. At the 1986 World Championships in Toronto, the fan favorite Lukowich Team represented Canada and surprised the then 10-0 Scotland rink in the finals to win the coveted Silver Broom. The Lukowich team continued their winning ways by capturing a berth on the Canadian Olympic Team at the 1987 Olympic Trials. They went on to represent Canada in Calgary at the 1988 Olympic Winter Games where they captured the bronze medal in the demonstration sport of curling. In 1992 the Lukowich Team was inducted into the Curling Hall of Fame and Museum of Canada. Positions: Ed Lukowich (Skip), John Ferguson (3rd), Neil Houston (2nd), Brent Syme (lead).
